Carlyncia Peck

As founder and proprietor of viaJ entertainment services as well as Artistic Empowerment Centers, our non-profit sister organization, Carlyncia believes in lifting as she climbs by nurturing the seeds of others’ dreams to their fruition, a need she saw in establishing these performing arts entities focused on building the Spirit, soul, body, in addition to the art in her students. A cum laude graduate of Howard University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, Carlyncia has been a professional in the entertainment industry for over 20 years. As a member of the Screen Actors Guild, American Federation of Television and Radio Artists and Actors Equity Association, her most recent film/TV credits include Touchstone Picture’s Step Up as Mac’s mom, CBS’s The District and HBO’s Something the Lord Made and The Wire. She’s worked in national, regional and local commercial and print ads for clients such as Amtrak, Citibank, Marriott, and Giant Foods. Most notable stage and touring credits include My Lord, What a Morning as the legendary contralto, Marian Anderson, with the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, background vocal work with Michael Jackson, George Michael, and other notables in addition to her self-titled tour of Europe with TransAtlantic. She has taken part in numerous studio projects ranging from radio commercials to loop groups to vocal recordings. Carlyncia feels so blessed to be used of God to sow seeds of her God-given wisdom with those He entrusts to her bringing out their very best and helping them achieve their artistic goals.
